Aspects for the week beginning 13 May 2018
Uranus Enters Taurus
“It’s been a long time, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will”
~ Sam Cooke [Sun in Aquarius]
This week’s arrival of Uranus in Taurus on Tuesday 15th May has been widely broadcast of late, and it probably hasn’t escaped your notice, especially if you use Facebook. Uranus takes 84 years to tour around the zodiac, and 7 years per sign and House.
Nature of Uranus in Taurus
Uranus, an Air planet is the planet of sudden change, sees no ideological reason why change should not take place, and the Earth sign of Taurus is resistant to change as it registers the practical obstacles and ramifications. Thus, the combination of Uranus and earth can sometimes result in earthquakes, both climatic and personal.
Historic Considerations – Finance
On its last entry into Taurus, in 1934, we were in the throes of the Great Depression, a financial crisis which began in 1933 when Uranus was still at the end of Aries. But Taurus is equated with finance, which is why many Astrologers predict a major overhaul in the area of finance. They also equate it with the rise in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
Raymond Merriman, an award winning Financial Astrologer, writes this week:
“…the interference of trading in bitcoin, or any market, by government regulators, fits with the symbolism of Uranus entering Taurus (disruption of monies), at the same time Pluto is in Capricorn (government interventions).”
Jessica Adams, who has been writing about this phenomenon for some time ahead, has done some impressive research into financial institutions which strongly indicate such changes. She states:
“From May 13th on, if you are not completely across Bitcoin, Blockchain and the rapid rise of competing cryptocurrencies, you need to be. The astrology is really clear. We are seeing a crisis and transformation for the banks and the finance industry.”
Historic Considerations – World Politics
In 1934, Hitler was cementing his power, becoming president and chancellor of Germany. His natal Sun at 0 degrees 49 m Taurus was transited by Uranus on 28th June of that year. Uranus had entered Taurus on 7th June, and on 30th June he instituted the Night of the Long Knives, purging the “Stormtroopers”, in the pretence of restoring order. Thus he managed to use Uranus on his Sun to enhance his power.
We have some crackpots and tyrants around the world leading our governments at the moment. Putin has just arranged to add 6 more years on to his powerful regime. The President of China has given himself a lifelong lease of power. Erdogan of Turkey has clung on to power for years, and cemented his position, becoming more entrenched and hard line as time has gone on. We have the wild and unpredictable Donald Trump heading up the United States of America, and the equally unpredictable Kim Jong Un heading North Korea with its nuclear aspirations. Donald Trump has challenged the nuclear aspirant Iran (headed by Houssain Rohani and the Ayatollah Khamenei), but is seemingly forging links with former rival Jong Un. They are to meet on 12th June. Much of the world power play centres upon the increasingly unstable Middle East.
Do any of these leaders have significant planets at 0 degrees Taurus, or at 0 degrees of a sign?
Vladimir Putin of Russia has his Moon at 0 degrees Gemini in his 9th House of Foreign Relationships. Uranus semi-sextile this point from his 8th House may deliver an emotional shock to his Moon, but he may quickly analyze it and incorporate it into his Philosophy of carrying on clinging to power regardless. A recent television profile of Vladimir Putin suggested that world domination might be on his wish list, but until the Russian economy improves this would seem unlikely.
Xi Jinping of China does not have any significant planets at 0 degrees of a sign. However, we do not have his Ascendant, which could conceivably be affected.
Recep Erdogan of Turkey likewise does not have any significant planets at 0 degrees of a sign. Neither do we have his Ascendant, which might be involved.
Donald Trump’s Ascendant is so nearly at 0 degrees, being at 29 degs 58 m Leo. His actions may trigger changes, with Uranus going into Taurus. Uranus trines his Ascendant 14-15th May (Monday (tomorrow)/Tuesday), and this actually will put him in a position of power in relation to fashioning change (whether we like it or not). Uranus enters his 9th House of Foreign Relationships, so Change will be a feature of this area of his life for 7 years (i.e. even when he leaves power), and some of that change will come from him, and some of that change may be successful.
Kim Jong Un of North Korea has two possible birth charts, one for 1983 and one for 1984 (both without times). In my previous researches, the 1984 has tended to look more accurate, but I will look at both:
For the 1983 chart, Pluto is at 29 deg 21 m Libra. On 3rd May Uranus opposed that point, and Jong Un was making peace around then with South Korea. This is not a convincing transit, as he would be more likely to be antagonistic under this influence.
For the 1984 chart (my preference), Mercury is at 0 deg 52 m Capricorn. This would see him around 2nd June making surprisingly lucid choices (Uranus trine his Mercury), and if he is limbering up to his meeting with Donald Trump, and continuing to spin the plates for China and South Korea, this does, again, look like the more convincing chart.
Hassan Rouhani of Iran has Uranus at exactly 0 degs 0 m Cancer! He will register change precisely at the outset of Uranus in Taurus, at 15.16 Hrs our (U.K.) time on Tuesday. Uranus sextiles his Uranus, giving him the power of change and choice, even more so than Donald Trump. This is extraordinary timing, though we do not have a birth time for him to provide more information.
Ayatollah Khamenei, the religious leader of Iran, has two planets at 0 degrees, Saturn at 0 degs 37 m Taurus, squaring his natal Pluto at 0 deg 52 m Leo. Again, we do not have a birth time. This gives him double relevance, and maybe some influence, but it does not strike his chart in a constructive way. Uranus transits his natal Saturn in Taurus on 27th May, which may affect his health. Squaring his Pluto, it may also affect his overall wellbeing or psychology. There is a danger that he may strike out unpredictably, if he is not preoccupied with health matters. He may have disagreements with Hassan Rouhani, who would be in a stronger state of mind, but may not find it easy to deal with the relationship.
The Queen
A special mention must be made that Queen Elizabeth II’s Sun is early in the first degree of Taurus, at 0 deg 10 minutes. The change will register very early for her, this week, 18/19th May, i.e. during the proceedings Royal Wedding itself. It may be a dramatic event, but equally it could be a realization that comes to her during the course of the day or weekend. It may be pertinent to the history of the monarchy.
Chiron in Aries
Looking briefly back at the ingress of Uranus into the preceding sign Aries in 2010, it was equated immediately with the phenomenon of the Arab Spring. Aries representing Energy and Force, combining with Uranus the Rebel, brought this phenomenon and the activism of the Occupy movement. The movement started in Tunisia, and then spread to many other Middle Eastern countries which followed suit, rebelling against tyrannical rulers. Some were removed (notably Mubarak in Egypt) and some proved obdurate (notably Erdogan in Turkey). A great deal of turmoil followed; the removal of Gaddafi in Libya resulted in chaos, and the upsurge of refugee movement towards Europe. Hope gradually gave way to despair. Tunisia was the last nation to admit that the Arab Spring movement had come to nothing, last year, just as Uranus was in the last degrees of Aries. Yes, some tyrants were removed, but the rise of ISIS and increase in terrorism came to inhabit the vacuum which was created. No great inspired leaders were able to bring coherence to their societies. Aries is a sign noted for initiating ideas, but not always being able to follow through to practical reality – a province which does fall within the brief of Taurus. Taurus tends to be determined to uphold the status quo, and needs to be persuaded that changes are necessary. It can follow through the ideas and ideals of Aries, if there is anything for instance to be salvaged from the Arab Spring. In other areas of life activism has had burgeoning success, notably in the “Me Too” movement, which came in at the culmination of this seven year sojourn.
Personal Impact
You will be most affected this month if you have a planet or angle at 0 degrees of a sign. I myself have Ascendant at 0 degrees Taurus, so am expecting the unexpected. Otherwise, you may feel the changes when the first transit from Uranus touches on one of your personal planets or angles. You will in any case see changes occurring for friends and family, or in society or the world, which may be thought-provoking or eyebrow-raising. If you are Uranus-ruled, i.e. have Sun, Ascendant in Aquarius or Uranus on the Ascendant in your natal chart, you may experience a personal change of focus or character as Uranus changes sign. For example, you may have been more spirited and fiery over the last 7 years, and may become more placid or earthy.
Thinking Positive
Taurus is a multi-talented and faceted sign. As well as finance, it represents Art and Music, the Earth, and Food. So innovations in all these areas can take place in this 7 year period, and some of these could be beneficial indeed. Uranus represents science and technology, and so these advances will become more concrete in this Earth sign, and often directly linked to Taurean related themes. Uranus has the power to shock, but it also has the power to surprise, excite and delight. Your own reaction to such changes may be dependent on how in tune your intuition is with the flow of what is coming and what is needed. Cultivating flexibility, we can enjoy the spontaneity of it all. We can learn that we can deal with changes that arrive unexpectedly, and feel stronger in that knowledge. It may also be that being pro-active in the changes you want to see will be more successful and empowering than standing about reacting to change when it arises.
Interaction between Chiron and Uranus
I wrote last month, for 17th April:
“More importantly, Chiron enters Aries that day: a major sign change. Chiron has been journeying through Pisces in recent years, a sensitive crucible of healing. Chiron coming into Aries will be more overt, and possibly more physical in its approach to healing. If you have important points in your chart at 0 degrees, you may have healing issues come up. If you have a difficult angle to one of your planets, then Uranus moving into Taurus in May may help, as it may counteract that difficulty. And vice versa, if your Chiron transit is an easy angle to a personal planet, then the Uranian transit may be more awkward. The two planets are performing a balancing act this spring.”
Reflections on Change
Some initiate change, and some have change thrust upon them. As I have Taurus rising, if a change of plan occurs I tend to see it as a disruption to my plodding pace of life. I hope to evolve my perception towards seeing it as an opportunity being created to do something differently. I need to be ready for that instead of trying to revert to my default pace.
Phrases you might hear (yourself saying)
“Something’s got to give”
“I didn’t see that coming”
“That was a bit left field”
*Ooh, Betty!”
“Surprise, Surprise!”
Affirmation:
“I flow with Change”
“Surprise, surprise, the unexpected hits you between the eyes
The unpredictable, that’s the surprise you see, surprise! Surprise!”
~ Cilla Black [Sun exactly conjunct Uranus]
Eurovision Song Contest 2018
“We are back to caution for Saturday (12th), the day of the Eurovision Song Contest. Don’t go out rashly and put all your money on the Royaume Uni entry, for instance. The day could be incident prone, with minor upsets and abrasions. One Eurovision entry may nearly have to pull out, for example! Near misses may demand that you carry your sticking plasters wherever you are headed, and be prepared to issue kind words and soothe egos.”
(from last week’s blog)
Deconstructing the above, there is a lot that sadly proved true. Our U.K. entry came 24th out of 26, the Czech Republic nearly had to pull out due to injury, we actually had an “incident” during our performance, and dear Graham Norton issued kind words and soothed egos over and over again, rightly praising SuRie’s brave handling of the crisis and her spirited performance, and affirming our pride in her.
Our SuRie is a late Aquarian, with transiting Uranus sextile her natal Sun, providing great excitement at this time. She had two adverse transits from Jupiter, which can mean overconfidence (Jupiter square Venus and opposite Mars). It is not clear how much the Brexit factor influenced the voting, though we did much better last year, after Brexit had already been triggered.
The winner, Netta, from Israel, is a very early Aquarian, with Mercury at 1 degree of the sign, and her Sun at 2 degrees. Currently, Uranus is squaring her Mercury/Sun, and the working out of this will become clear in June and July. But her “Me Too” message was clearly a sign of the times, and as quirky as Eurovision songs come.
Interviewed a week before the final by the Independent, she said:
“[I was told] dress like you have nothing to celebrate. Dress in black. Dress big. Short skirts are not for you. Short sleeves are not for you. You’re not sexy or beautiful. You’re funny – that’s what you are. And you are a good friend. Well I am here to break that because this is a great evil that is done in the world to so many people.”
That success has come when she has Uranus challenging her planets is a reminder that we should not have any fear about being ourselves, and reassures us that if change is meant to be, and is in the flow of positive social evolution, it can be personally empowering. She said “I am very happy”. Uranus can be a progressive force in your life.
Aspects
Mercury conjuncts Uranus today, so your mind may be bursting with information and ideas. Your memory may still be bombarded by the spectacle of 26 Eurovision songs last night. And then the voting from 43 countries…
But that’s enough about me. Communication should be at the pinnacle of brilliance today, polishing the diamond that is your mind (unless you are nursing a hangover from last night, in which case you may not feel the full benefit). It is a good day to welcome the power of surprise, and inspire others with your mental inventiveness. Telepathy, too, thrives under this conjunction.
At lunchtime, Mercury enters Taurus. The collective mental outlook moves from the direct and straightforward to more practical considerations, and earth-centred preoccupations. It is prime time for being in the garden and working out the best way to plant your seedlings and in what order. Whether or not rationalizing your gardening exploits is your thing, you’ll be bringing the focus of the mind on Taurean skills and occupations: Art, Music and Banking, to name but a few. To Bitcoin or not to Bitcoin, that is the question.
Tuesday (15th) is the biggest event, starting with a New Moon at 24 degrees Taurus. This is a new beginning for all Taurean related interests, and a chance to focus your intent on these for the next month, or year. You may take inspiration from visiting gardens or art galleries for instance, and looking at the achievements of the highest potential in these areas. You are helping to build the New Earth, as they say in New Age circles.
In the middle of the afternoon, Uranus enters Taurus: the unstoppable force meets the immovable object, as it were. You may register this if you are sensitive to Uranus and/or Taurus (see above), or you may observe it in events in society or on the global stage. For others, it may pass them by for different reasons, e.g. the timing is not critical in their charts or with their planets, at the moment. But it will be the beginning of a new process, and a new way of seeing progress and the way forward. We have exhausted the possibilities of Uranus in Aries, and must find new ways to circumvent and deal with new challenges, or new ways around old challenges we haven’t given up on.
Another ingress occurs on Wednesday (16th) with the entry of Mars into Aquarius. We may be in the month of Taurus, but Aquarius is such a strong theme this week. Mars breathes life and energy into social initiatives and projects, and especially those that support the underdog, and the vulnerable. Team spirit works well under this influence, and people pulling together as communities.
Also that day Mars squares Uranus, which is more tricky and erratic energy, but does emphasize the combination of Mars and Aquarius from early in the day. Mars plus Uranus/Aquarius spells Activism, but Mars squaring Uranus can bring awkward clashes. The electricity in the air could be tangible with the day’s mix of astrological influences. It is one of those days you need to proceed with caution, though you could be straining at the leash!
Better practise restraint and wait until Friday (18th) to make progress on practical plans and realities. Mercury trine Saturn on that day will help you to steadily build on initiatives from early on in the week, and good ideas which you haven’t yet been able to get off the ground. If you were bursting with ideas but unable to see where to start, things may fall into place in your mind regarding how to proceed and plan, even if just step by step.
And so we come to another big day, Saturday (19th), not so much an astrological big day, but certainly one full of vast expectations from football fans and royalists.
The service for the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle begins at Noon, with the royal sign of Leo rising.
Manchester United will take on Chelsea at Wembley Stadium at 17.15 p.m., when the Ascendant will have reached Libra. I don’t do football predictions (only Wimbledon) but wonder if Libra is a clue that Chelsea (the Blues) will win.
In between these two events, Venus enters Cancer (the fourth ingress of the week), at 13.11 Hrs. When the date of the wedding was announced, I wrote:
“Venus in Cancer is perfect for a sentimental occasion, and an excuse to buy a box of kleenex. However, with the Football Cup Final being held the same day apparently there will be household battles for the remote control.”
Venus in Cancer brings out our softer side, and sentimentality over family history and emotions held within its framework.
Just after the beginning of the football final, Venus sextiles Uranus. I went on to describe that:
“The main aspects are more descriptive of and suited to a royal wedding, though I would not go as far as to say that women will win the battle of the remote (and I would not wish to make such a sexist assumption)! Venus sextile Uranus provides an air of romantic excitement: people may fall in love on that day, or realize they want to marry! That aspect too is perfect for the occasion, in providing an extra special social atmosphere.”
So it looks like the sentimentality will carry on through the day, and somehow permeate the football event. Perhaps there will be a romantic proposal that day centred around the football world. Certainly there will be a celebratory atmosphere, and dudes will be partying on. Important new connections will be made. Venus sextile Uranus usually delivers on excitement.
This blog has begun, and ended, with Uranus…!
The week in bullet points:
- Today – brilliant ideas; practical thinking too
- Tuesday – new beginning, and big changes
- Wednesday – action allies with revolution
- Friday – progress on practical plans
- Saturday – hope, sentiment and emotion; vivid social meetings

Hi Lana, thanks for so much information today. Plenty to consider, work with and of course watch come to fruition. I wish all is as well as possible for us, all around the World. Phew.
And the aspects, I guess I’ll work carefully through the week and duck from time to time. More best wishes for everyone.

Dear Lana
Thank you for the interesting insights every week. I was watching Eurovision too and I really hoped that the #Meetoo Song will win. I
Today I am watching a tennis match (in Rome at 4:10 pm) between Anna Kontaveit. (24.12.1995 from Tallinn) against Coco (06.12.1991 from New York). There are allmost on the same level but Coco won the only match they played against each other. You now both of them from Wimbledon last year 😉
Could you have a look if one of these players have any good or bad aspects?
Thank you very much for your help.

Dear Sarah
Thanks very much for your comment.
I think the impending Uranus transit into Taurus is bringing up a lot of fear generally, but you have to remember that Uranus is always around and we are always working with its energy in some form.
Maybe happy surprises await you,

Dear Pitsch
Lovely to hear from you.
Wasn’t it just the most thrilling Eurovision, right up to the end of the voting?!
I was just reflecting this morning that it will soon be Wimbledon season.
Anna Kontaveit is very strongly earthed, with Sun, Mars, Mercury, Neptune and Uranus in Capricorn. Her hand-eye-brain co-ordination is very acute, with Mercury exactly conjunct Mars and sextile exactly Saturn (so it is also very measured).
I wrote last year about Coco: ” Coco is an outrageously outright Sagittarian, with Mars, the Sun, the Moon (a New Moon) and Mercury in that sign. The strength of a New Mooner is the ability to always start afresh, and that can be in the middle of a match! Her Sun squares her Jupiter, so she could be relentlessly optimistic, sometimes unrealistically so.”
In their interaction, they can test each other, with Coco’s Sun sextile Anna’s Chiron, Coco’s Mercury square Anna’s Saturn, and Coco’s Saturn conjunct Anna’s Venus. But the testing goes both ways, and is not especially tipped to favour either side (bearing out your observation that they are almost on the same level).
In their transits for 4.10 pm Rome this afternoon, Anna currently has Neptune exactly trine her Sun (inspired playing) and Uranus on her Mars (possibly injury prone, but certainly capable of an electric performance). Coco has Mars square her Venus (also possibly incident-prone), Uranus opposite her Venus (prone to the unexpected), but Neptune sextile her Neptune (spiritually very centred) and Pluto sextile her Pluto (very much empowered) exact to the day. It could be a lively and eventful match, but at this time I think Coco has a greater astrological backing.

From the Newsdesk:
I wrote yesterday:
This is coming true, now, with precision timing. His actions in establishing the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has triggered bloodshed in Gaza. He may be happy with his action (Uranus trine his Ascendant going into his 9th House of foreign relationships), but this is not a helpful step in terms of peace in the Middle East.
Tomorrow is a Solar Return for the State of Israel. That and Venus on its Uranus brought success in a singing contest in recent days. But this week’s Mars square Uranus sits exactly on the 4th House cusp and 7th House cusp of Israel’s natal chart, the cause of more violence. Tomorrow’s entry of Uranus into Taurus has started a few hours early.

Dear Lana,
Thank you as always for the insights, reflections and this week especially expansive breadth of your considerations. I ve only just got to your blog ( it s Tuesday) and so much to think about I ll need to read it a few times. So far I m having a week of feeling entirely bowled over by successive impacts and surprises. Rather as you mentioned in your blog.
I m not remotely sanguine about these events. The fire in my heart and my Arian simplicity can conflict markedly with the need for equanimity!
Hoping you enjoyed the Eurovision Song Contest greatly as I know it s a favourite for you.
With love,
Yaz

Dear Yaz
Good to hear from you.
Currently in rainy Salisbury so not in a position to provide a full reply!
But glad this blog spoke to you, and we’ll see where we stand collectively next Sunday!
In the meantime, hope that the major energy shift of the week has passed its peak for you, and that the rest of the week passes serene and peacefully on a personal level.

Dear Lana
Its now Sunday the 20th and I’m catching up with last week’s blog. I’m finding the concept of Uranus entering Taurus fascinating. As for the aspects, as per usual I discover should have read them last Sunday because my mind is now fairly blank over what happened in the week other than the excitement of having a boiler service. However what I really like was Pitsch giving us a reminder of tennis to come. Roll on Wimbledon! And roll on your Wimbledon blog!
Love Janet x
PS you got it right about Chelsea
May 20th, 2018 at 1:07 pm
Thanks very much, Janet!
Hope the boiler service was up to the hype…
Yes, Wimbledon is on the horizon. Sadly I have to confess that I picked the wrong winner for this early foray into tennis prognostication.
Luckily, my aside about Chelsea proved correct. Knowing nothing about their form, and not intending to forecast on the subject, I noticed that Libra rising and felt it significant enough to mention. Then I asked hubby, and he said “They’ve got no chance, the way they are playing”, even though is is a lifelong Chelsea supporter.
I was able to enjoy the moment yesterday, as I found myself a captive in front of a television screen in Salisbury, unusually partaking of the event.
Hope you have a more memorable week this week (unless you don’t want a memorable week).
Love

Dear Lana
Coco hasn’t got a chance. She lost 6-1 6-1.
Today started Roland Garros, the french open and like always I am cheering for all the swiss players. Unfortunately Roger is not in Paris but if it is like last year it will turn as a wisely decision.
Now I am rooting for Stanislas Wawrinka. The formal french open winner is another one who tries to get back on track after an injury. In the first round he already faces a quite good clay player, G. Garcia-Lopez (4. june 1983 in La Roda, Albacete). What do you think? Is it possible that Stan the man goes further in this tournament or will GGL will be a too high hurdle?
May 27th, 2018 at 5:04 pm
Dear Pitsch
Good to hear from you!
Yes Anna Kontaveit sailed through that match!
We do get some coverage here of Roland-Garros, so I may get to see some play.
I see that Wawrinka and Garcia-Lopez play 10 a.m. tomorrow morning, so I had better get my skates on (I am in London tomorrow).
Stan the man as you call him has now got Mars square his natal Pluto, so that may be the danger of the lurking injury. 0.1 Of course, that is not as difficult as Pluto squaring his Mars, which is a consolation. He has Mars trine his Chiron, which gives him some fighting spirit in the face of his setbacks and injuries. But he has Saturn square his Sun, so at the same time is being tested in his character and confidence. So he is doing well and bravely to be in the tournament. Pluto trine his natal North Node gives him karmic kudos for trying, and may reward him.
I have never written about Guillermo Garcia-Lopez before. He has Sun exactly conjunct Mars in Gemini, which can sometimes indicate a strain on the heart. However, he would be quick witted and have good physical co-ordination. He has Moon in Pisces, so may be emotionally sensitive. He has an entrepreneurial Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in lucky Sagittarius. He also has a conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Libra, which at certain times can drag him down moodwise.
His current transits are fairly quiet. Possibly the strongest transit is Pluto trine his natal Mercury, which would give him good powers of concentration.
In their interaction, Guillermo’s Mercury conjuncts Stan’s North Node, so they may have a karmic link, but communication would come easily between them. Guillermo’s Venus trines Wawrinka’s Saturn, indicating loyalty if they were friends. Guillermo’s Uranus trines Stan’s Sun, so Guillermo can surprise Stan but Stan can be galvanized or electrified into a good performance in their interaction.
At the close of Roland-Garros Mars sextiles Stan’s Sun, so he will have stamina if he gets to that point. Saturn will still be square his Sun, but the threat of Mars squaring his Pluto has receded. Pluto still trines his North Node, supporting him karmically.
For Guillermo, Mars will be sextile his Uranus, which means there may be some excitement in his life.
The fact that Stan has a lot more going on in his transits at this time may see him through to the next round. See above for their chances whichever one comes through, if either of them reaches the final!
Have a good week,
Love
Lana
June 2nd, 2018 at 4:02 am
Dear Lana
Thank you very much for the insight. Wawrinka and so am I did not have luck enough. It was a hard fight but the stamina in the fifth set was too low.
Do have seen any match? Now we are in the second week and I believe that we see another winner than last year (Nadal). My favorites are Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Nishikori and Cilic. Do you have time and the interest to make a astrologically guess? I wish you a nice weekend!
June 2nd, 2018 at 11:29 am
Thank you, Pitsch!
Commiserations for Wawrinka.
I haven’t seen any of the current tournament yet, but it will be good practice for Wimbledon to look at Roland Garros.
Firstly, Nadal himself. He isn’t playing well at the moment, but it is his birthday and he has a Solar Return and also a Venus Return today. Mars is sextile his Saturn, which is not unhelpful. The most difficult transit at the moment is Mars squaring his Pluto, an injury-influenced transit. Jupiter trines his Venus, which is favourable. Uranus is on his Moon and trines his Midheaven, so there is an element of the unexpected. Neptune trines his Venus, which may bring benefits in his personal life. Pluto is sextile his Jupiter and Ascendant, giving him some strength. So he has some transits going for him. And he has a lot going on, which as we saw with Wawrinka didn’t necessarily help.
His opponent today, Richard Gasquet, also has Mars sextile his Saturn (maintaining strength), but his Neptune squares his Chiron, so his health may not be tip top. And Pluto opposes his Mercury, so he could be under mental strain (possibly in his personal life). So for today, Nadal has the better transits, and Richard Gasquet not much going for him. Which was the pattern for Wawrinka the other day, when he lost. I would plump though for Nadal getting through this match. The two of them have strong connections between their charts, including Marses exactly conjunct, so they may understand each other’s energies.
As for the final day, Nadal has lost the Mars aspects (including the very dangerous one), but he retains both the Uranian ones (the power of surprise), plus Neptune trine Venus, and the strengthening Pluto ones. That is not a bad picture. Maybe he recovers from this point, or maybe if he goes out today he has a chance to recover!
Gasquet loses the strengthening Mars transit, and retains the troublesome Neptune square Chiron and Pluto opposite his Mercury. So he is not likely to win the tournament, and you have not included him among your favourites.
Novak Djokovic currently has Neptune squaring his Mercury, a lack of clear thought, although the Guardian this morning reported that he does show a passion for the tournament. He has transiting Uranus sextile his Mars, which can be electrifying, Saturn on his Neptune, which at the moment can be dampening (maybe his performance is patchy?). Saturn sextiles his Pluto, which is strengthening, but the Nodal Axis is square his Pluto, which loses him karmic points.
At the end of the tournament, he still has Neptune square his Mercury, Uranus sextile his Mars, Saturn on his Neptune, Saturn sextile his Pluto and Nodal Axis square his Pluto. But added to that is Mars square his Pluto, which I think would preclude a win at that time. Maybe he will get to the semi-finals.
The Guardian this morning were very enthusiastic about Zverev. He is currently Electric, with Uranus on his Sun. We have his Ascendant (27 degrees Scorpio), and his exact Moon position, so we also know that Saturn is square his Moon, and the North Node is sextile his Moon, so his emotions are quite varied at the moment. Saturn trines his Mercury now, so his concentration is good, though the North Node squares his Mercury (the Guardian caption reads “Zverev wins Paris hearts but has little love for critics”). He has a passionate square from Mars to his Venus at the moment, but an opposition to his Mars from Neptune (possibly some wrong judgements). The South Node is on his Uranus, so there is a strong element of the unexpected in his life at the moment. Finally, Mars sextiles his Pluto, conferring great strength (both physical and psychological). That all looks pretty good for him.
Looking ahead at the time of the final, Uranus is still on his Sun, Mars trines his Moon (so his emotions are more straightforward), North Node still sextiles his Moon, Mars squares his Mercury (there could be minor errors) and the North Node squares his Mercury still. Neptune still opposes his Mars, and Mars transits his Uranus in an explosive conjunction. The South Node will still be on his Uranus, but he loses the sextile of Mars to his Pluto. I think that whole picture still looks good for him.
Kei Nishikori currently has a dampening transit of Saturn on his Sun in Capricorn, though he has a very Capricornian chart and Saturn is his ruling planet, so he may be able to use that in the best way. Mars is on his Venus, so again he may be displaying some passion right now. The North Node supports him karmically with a trine to his Mars, which relates to his physical performance. Jupiter sextiles his Saturn, lifting his confidence, and Neptune trines his Pluto. An average set of transits, but I certainly wouldn’t rule him out.
For the final, he still has Saturn on his Sun; he also has Mars sextile his Mars (energetic flow), still has North Node trine his Mars and Jupiter sextile his Saturn, plus the Neptune trine Pluto. That is even a slight improvement on his present transits, and he keeps all the beneficial ones.
For Marin Cilic, he has Mars trine his Sun at the moment, giving him plenty of energy and athletic prowess. Mars also sextiles his Mars (energetic flow) and trines his Jupiter (enthusiasm and success). The only fly in the ointment is Saturn on his Neptune (which Djokovic also has) and that may hold him back. By the end of the tournament somehow he has lost all the beneficial transits, and is left with the difficult one (Saturn on his Neptune) so sometime between now and the final he could go out, maybe sooner rather than later. But with a flourish!
So I would go for Zverev, ideally. We’ll see how all that pans out!

Thank you very much for your work!!! Much appreciated.
The second favourite is now Thiem. He won against Nishikori today. Del Potro could be a threat too.
Zverev will be tired if he always needs 5 sets like today and the last 2 matches.

Dear Pitsch
Here is the further picture:
Dominic’s transits are all good at the moment: Jupiter sextile his Mercury (bright mental functioning) and trine his Ascendant (luck). He also has Uranus trine his Chiron (healing and surprises) and Neptune trine his Ascendant (physical fine tuning). At the end of the tournament he has Mars opposite his Venus (slightly awkward) and sextile his North Node (vigorous karma), Jupiter still sextile his Mercury, and Neptune still trine his Ascendant. He could make the final, and could even win.
Juan Martin del Potro may be peaking around now. Mars is sextile his Mars (energy and strength), and Jupiter trines his Mars (luck and energy combined), but he has Mars square his natal Saturn (some blockage) and Neptune conjunct his natal Saturn (working on his weaknesses). By the end of the tournament, he loses the two beneficial transits, and retains the two difficult ones. Therefore he may be out of the tournament soon.
Enjoy your viewing! Hope to see the final at least,
Love

Hi Lana. Have you seen the recent results? Thiem is moving forward. Next step: Marco Cecchinato who has fought like a lion against Djokovic. What do you think? Can he repeat this against Thiem? Normally they all lose after such a big win.
Nadal will face the argentinan Diego Schwartzman. Nadal is obviously huge favourite but Diego is a fighter. What do you think? Thiem against Nadal in the final? I really hope for a new winner.

Dear Pitsch
I would not discount Marco Cecchinato, as he has some of the basic transits which helped him win the Hungarian Open (Neptune sextile his Neptune and Pluto sextile his Pluto). He has quite a hot headed Mars square Sun in his natal chart, and Mercury square Uranus so is not afraid to be controversial. He is not afraid to upset the apple cart. Plus he has Mercury sextile Chiron, an ability in problem-solving.
Also in his favour are some Neptune aspects in his synastry with Thiem, which could confuse Thiem. The aspects for the next couple of days centre around Neptune squaring Sun/Mercury, so there is a lot of confusion any way. In Thiem’s favour in their synastry, his Uranus squares Cecchinato’s Mercury, so Thiem could throw him off guard. I shouldn’t think they have played each other much, as Cecchinato seems to have come up just recently, so Thiem may not have had a chance to assess his game. I will choose Thiem, experience over newcomer, but it could be a tough match.
Diego Schwartzman is a Leo showman, an unusual sign for a tennis player, with a flair for the dramatic (Pluto square the Sun). He also has Mercury in Leo, the mindset of a winner. There’s a lot of luck, too, in his chart, with Venus conjunct Jupiter and Jupiter trine Uranus/Neptune. He seizes his chances in life and on the tennis court. He can be over the top in his energies (Mars square Jupiter) but also very precise and deliberate (Mars exactly trine Saturn).
In his synastry with Nadal, Diego has his Mars on Nadal’s Sun, so he could rattle his cage. He has Neptune opposite Nadal’s Venus, and Pluto trine his Jupiter, and so in personal relationship he holds a lot of power. His Saturn trines Nadal’s Mercury, so the match could be one of high mental concentration on the part of both of them.
For today’s match, Mars opposes his natal Mercury (unforced errors), Jupiter squares his Saturn (lack of balance or judgement), Jupiter sextiles his Uranus (lucky opportunities), Chiron squares his Jupiter (possibility of crisis), Neptune sextiles his Neptune and Pluto sextiles his Pluto.
At the end of the tournament, Mars is opposite Diego’s Mercury, so he could make silly mistakes. Jupiter squares his Saturn, so again his judgement may not be at its brightest. But Jupiter still sextiles his natal Uranus, and like Cecchinato he has the good basic transits of Neptune sextile his Neptune and Pluto sextile his Pluto (they were born within weeks of each other in the same year).
I think Nadal will win today, and I think if Diego got into the final, he doesn’t have a totally winning set of transits. But he is currently riding high on the Jupiter sextile his Uranus at the moment, and if he won the whole thing that would be the transit responsible.
So I am going for a final of Thiem versus Nadal, if I have to choose!

Thank you again! I really like to read what you think. Today Nadal had a bad start against Schwartzman and tomorrow it will be a hard fight again. The plays are rescheduled due rain.
Cilic is playing against Del Potro and in the first set the play Tiebreak. 5-5 with serve Del Potro. So it will be important which one has the better start tomorrow 12:05 when the are going on. If I read your prediction both of them lose the beneficial transit. Do you like to guess which one face Nadal (or Schwartzman) in the semi? But only if you have the time!
I wish you a nice evening or a good start in the new day.

You’re welcome, Pitsch!
Today, Marin Cilic has Mars trine his Jupiter, so there is some fight in him. But other than that he only has the Saturn on his Neptune.
In his relationship with Del Potro, his Chiron squares Del Potro’s Mars, which is more damaging for Del Potro. But they have their Jupiters conjunct, so would share the same humour off court. Cilic’s Uranus is sextile Del Potro’s Mercury, so there is some telepathy between them (they must know each other well by now!)
Del Potro today has Mars sextile his Mars, a shot of energy, but Saturn squaring his Mars (also a depletion of energy; the two things may cancel each other out). He still has Mars trine his Jupiter, so there is also some fight in him. He also has the Saturn on his Neptune. The two were born within 5 days of each other in the same year (rather like Djokovic and Murray), so there is little to choose between them! If anything, I would say that Del Potro has slightly more going for him at this stage.
Let’s see how today goes! Have a good one,
Love

Hi Lana. You were absolutely right! Nadal is in the third set and will win and play in the final against Thiem. I really would appreciate your thoughts who’s gonna win the title. The final takes place on sunday at 3 pm Paris time or 2 pm London time.
June 9th, 2018 at 7:40 am
Dear Pitsch
Thank you for providing the exact time of the final. At 3pm in Paris on Sunday Libra is rising and Chiron is near the Descendant.
The Midheaven is in Cancer in the 10th House.
To recap, for Nadal:
“As for the final day, Nadal has lost the Mars aspects (including the very dangerous one), but he retains both the Uranian ones (the power of surprise), plus Neptune trine Venus, and the strengthening Pluto ones. That is not a bad picture. Maybe he recovers from this point, or maybe if he goes out today he has a chance to recover!” Uranus is on his Moon, but the trine of Uranus to his Midheaven has waned; Pluto is sextile his Jupiter, and Pluto sextile his Ascendant.
To recap for Thiem:
“At the end of the tournament he has Mars opposite his Venus (slightly awkward) and sextile his North Node (vigorous karma), Jupiter still sextile his Mercury, and Neptune still trine his Ascendant. He could make the final, and could even win.” I can add that the North Node will be on Thiem’s Venus. Mars is on his Part of Fortune in 7th House.
It’s a very close call, they both have good transits, and I know this will disappoint you (eek!), but I will go with Nadal.
Good luck, and have a good weekend!
Love

Dear Lana.
Thanks for your absolutely perfect prediction.
It was a tragedy how one-sided the last match was. No one overcomes Nadal on clay.
At the moment all the players are in the preperation for my favourite grandslam of the year and I suspect it is yours too.
Could you do me a favour and have a astrological look at a another match? In Hertogenbosch, Netherlands today at 12:30 the belgian player Elise Mertens (17 November 1995 in Leuven) plays against German player (13 August 1996, Düsseldorf) who I met personally once. What dou you think about this encouterment?
June 15th, 2018 at 10:54 am
Dear Pitsch
Thanks for the endorsement. Gives me encouragement for Wimbledon!
I managed to watch the final right through. For a moment, when Nadal was injured, it looked like the match could take a completely different turn.
Elise is a Scorpio with four planets in Sagittarius, which is a strong combination. She has 0 Air planets, so plays very instinctively, and 6 Mutable planets so is adaptable despite her Scorpio Sun sign. She is able to apply herself well (Mercury trine Saturn), and has enthusiasm combined with energy (Mars exactly conjunct Jupiter. With her Uranus/Neptune conjunction square her Nodal Axis, her karma is quite complex and unpredictable.
Antonia Lottner was born close to a New Moon in Leo, and would be a very competitive performer. She has an unaspected Mercury, so may be a free thinker or a champion of free speech. North Node conjunct Chiron in Libra may mean that she has a healing mission, especially in relationships.
In their chemistry, Elise has Mars trine Antonia’s Sun, so that is a very energetic exchange. Elise has her Saturn opposite Antonia’s Mercury which may dampen Antonia’s mental processes, but if she is able to rise above it Antonia can focus more. Antonia’s Neptune squares Elise’s Nodal Axis, so Antonia has the ability to confuse Elise at times.
The match appears to be suspended for today, but I don’t know the reason why. So looking at their transits for tomorrow, I find:
Neptune opposite Antonia’s Mercury (mentally she is not as focussed as usual), Saturn square her Saturn (there is some block against her), Uranus square her Uranus (the element of the unexpected is not flowing her way). Her best transit is Jupiter trine her Mars (to one degree), so her energy has a boost.
Elise Mertens will have Pluto sextile her Mercury (depth of thought and perception), which is a strong transit in her favour, but not much else. I would favour Elise at this time, as Antonia’s life does not look easy at the moment.

A lot kisses for your effort! Just a short explanation. The match started yesterday and was suspended due rain. They will restart in a few minutes but I do not think that this will change a lot, or?
